My Affair with B&W

The black and white contrast has to be without a doubt one of the classiest color combinations of all times. Throughout the years, this match has been the traditional color for formal events, I mean can you ever go wrong with black and white? Absolutely not! One of the best features of this combo is that it will never go out of style which is a huge plus when it comes to re-using items in our closets. No matter if you're opting for a dress, pants and a shirt, or just a casual denim look, black & white will always look elegant and sophisticated.

If you ever feel the need to splurge or rather "invest" in something timeless that you will indeed be able to utilize for any event or occasion and is very unlikely to let you down would be in a black & white piece, Trust me!

There is no formula required or certain guidelines to follow when dressing in Black & White, all you really need is a little creativity and a few tips which I will share with you.

If you're looking to make a stylish statement, whether to keep yourself cozy or just to look fabulous, a sweater with sophisticated knits and or details will absolutely make that impression.

For a fresh, polished look, you can pair a solid white top with a black bottom or vice versa. You can even opt to wear all black with a white coat or blazer (as shown above) you can definitely play around with the pieces to your liking and taste.

Word of advice Chicas, the point here is not to look like a waiter or an employee at a prestigious company. It's perfectly fine to play with proportions and add your own kick. Stay away from looking too "basic" or plain, choose pieces that have fun silhouettes and textures.

Although I've stated that the black and white combination is an amazing way to create a flawless look, do keep in mind your skin complexion and tones, you don't want the clothes to "overpower" you or take away from your natural features. Stay away from bold prints and graphics, solid colors with bold textures works best, choose wisely!

If there is one thing that we would all have to agree on is that "dressing-up" during these heartless winter months can be quite a challenge. Instead of dwelling on something we can't change lets just embrace the cold weather in a fashionably chic way. The trick is to keep ourselves cozy while still looking fabulous. Take advantage of being able to rock rich textures like wool, cashmere, faux fur and colorful stockings. There is absolutely no need to be boring this winter! Yes chicas, you can add color and statement pieces to your look, lets not forget there are a lot of cute winter accessories to complete any look and make it stand out. So let's get started with this very fun winter fashion journey. Wearing Monochromatic tones with a subtle pop of color is always a fun and trendy idea. You can do so in a variety of ways depending on your favorite color and taste. The pop of color is not and should not be limited to one specific piece from your outfit, you can choose anything from the coat, shoes or accessories to be the pop of color. Winter cozy outfits DO NOT in any way have to be limited to tasteless and boring attire. There are many cool and chic sweaters and accessories that can make any outfit stand out. Just choose a piece that reflects your style.  What I love most about winter fashion is indeed the freedom of being able to layer up as much as I want without being perceived as crazy. The best way to bundle up without a doubt is with a nice chic coat, this piece will indeed make or break your look.  When it comes to footwear the are various options to choose from, you can do anything from over-the-knee boots to stylish pumps. That's the beauty of the cold weather, you have more options.    This look can be worn to just about any activity or event you might have planned and I can assure you, you'll look amazing. This Zara coat with a similar style from Asos can easily be paired with a Gap turtle neck sweater, H&M jeans (similar style from Levi's) and Pewter pumps from Heels.com

Sneakers? why not?

Have you ever found yourself wondering how to dress in such a way where you're both comfortable and looking absolutely amazing? If so, I will be glad to tell you that is the #1 issue most of us females encounter! And lets be honest chicas, there are many days where we just don't want to be bothered or annoyed, let alone have to figure out what to wear and look fabulous at the same time.

There are numerous ways to look great without having to wear 6 inch heels and a ton of makeup and that's where the word "casual" comes into play. It's safe to say that dressing casual can be considered as a broad term, but the basics of it are relatively very simple. A pair of jeans and a nice top will definitely do the trick! If you're more on the fashionista side of the track adding a few accessories and jewelry will indeed complete the look.

When it comes to fashion, rules are made to be broken. You can definitely add some life to your casual look by integrating pieces that you normally wouldn't. It's ok to accessorize and make your outfit unique, it's all about what makes you feel beautiful.

Chicas, It's totally fine to take time off from always looking glamorous. Wearing sneakers will make any outfit look casual instantly, by adding a pair of leggings or jeans with a loose t-shirt you will not only feel super comfortable but will also look very "casual chic".

Let's keep in mind that the keyword utilized here is "casual" not sloppy or trashy! And yes, there is indeed a difference. Stay away from clothes that looks like it has been in your closet for the last 20 years, or clothes that are stained or wrinkled! you want to have a nice and clean look. Now, during winter months it can be much easier to dress casual because of the many layers you can add like scarves, hats, gloves, coat, etc.

To summarize the casual look in 3 words: cute-simple-comfortable! so if you've got these three checked off then you're pretty much set. If you don't like wearing sneakers you can always wear flats or booties. To complete this look I used an H&M camel coat with a similar version from Topshop. I wanted to be super comfortable and give my feet a rest, so I opted to wear wedge sneakers from Nike with Faux leather leggings from Guess, a Marc Jacobs scarf with a similar version from Target. Bag from Juicy Couture Similar in Macy's.

Bow Skirts? Why not?

The clock is definitely ticking and days until christmas and new year are indeed approaching sooner than a blink of an eye. With so much to do and so many gifts to wrap, often times we tend to leave our holiday outfits in the wonderland thoughts and as a result we go completely insane trying to figure out what to wear! Does this scenario sound familiar? if yes, I understand the feeling, completely!!

When it comes to holiday outfits just like everything else in this world, there are different tastes and likes. Many girls love the idea of a colorful outfit or maybe a fun & flirty piece, others might even fall in love with the idea of a sparkly- eye catching piece. On the other hand, you have the girl who is more reserved and would much rather go for a sleek bun, pearl necklace and a black little dress, this style would most definitely be considered a sophisticated look.

Think about clean lines and cuts, classic silhouettes and dark colors.... all that with a modern twist. As stated before, crop tops can be worn all year long always keeping in mind to do it in a classy, sophisticated way.

 All it takes is one piece to captivate the audience and leave everyone looking your way. Whether it be the clothing, accessories or shoes always remember to wear at least one statement piece, It'll definitely add life to your look.

To add a festive touch to your look without making your outfit look too flashy, all you have to do is add key pieces like a gold sequined clutch, a nice bracelet and/or ring and of course a nice manicure to go with it.

So there it is chicas, it doesn't take much to achieve a sophisticated holiday look! remember not to over do it with accessories or makeup, choose one bold piece and rock it. Also, wearing a red lipstick and statement shoes will definitely work in your favor. To complete this look I wore these super cute and stylish rock-stud heels from Gojane with a similar clutch from Forever21. You can always add your own style to create a more "personalized" look.  Remember to always have fun with what you're wearing! sometimes it's not about the clothes, but the way you carry yourself.

The Perfect Sequin/party Dress

OMG Chicas!! How exciting, we are officially just a few days away from the holidays and I'm truly hoping everyone is ready to have an amazing time. I would also love to assume that by now everyone is pretty much done with all their holiday shopping, if not, no worries you my dear are not alone. Throughout these past few weeks I have been giving you ladies a few holiday outfit ideas for the "Girly Girl", "Chic Girl", "Sophisticated Girl", but what about my party girls? Those that are and like to be the life of the party and love to shine bright like a diamond? Of course I didn't forget you, I mean how could I?

There are indeed tons of options out there when it comes to holiday outfits, but I know you must be thinking who really has the time to sit and venture through hundreds of options without going completely insane. One very easy and cool way to dress this holiday season is to incorporate sequined pieces to your look. It'll add interest and total fabulousness to your outfit.

A fun and flirty sequin dress is the one piece that should always be in your closet! Figuratively and literally you will be shining all night or even all day long, that's what party girls do after all, own it!

When it comes to accessories, this might be one of the very few times where you want to limit yourself to the bare minimum. Remember chicas, classy over trashy any day! A nice clutch, simple earrings and a ring or bracelet will do just fine.

When it comes to sequins you do not have to limit yourself to just a dress, you can choose anything from sequined maxi skirts, tops, pants, blazers, options are indeed endless. Make sure to choose a piece that you will feel comfortable with.

Don't be afraid to show some skin! Absolutely nothing wrong with being sexy as long as you do it in moderation. As with any other look, shoes are the ultimate statement piece even if it involves wearing open toe heels, unless the party or event you're attending  will be held outdoors in a 25 degrees weather (If that's the case I would suggest covering up a little more!) Few Shades of Grey!

Lately, I have been somewhat obsessed with grey, can you guys blame me? I think it's such a beautiful color and goes great with just about anything. This color combination can be worn as a monochromatic look as I did, or just a few pieces to your liking.

Hi All. Happy new year :) My first official post of the year, how exciting! 

Today is all about comfort during those cold winter days where it's so hard to look cute and be cozy at the same time. Don't stress it too much, your basics for this heartless freezing weather will indeed be a nice coat, sweater, and your favorite jeans! of course, when it comes to footwear choose what you'll feel more comfortable with, whether it be pumps or booties, even flats.
