Season's Trend: Fringe

When it comes to fashion there are indeed numerous ways of making a statement, and I'm not just referring to any statement! Think about bold, fierce, stunning, the kind of statement that will have everyone looking your way. When looking to create a fashion statement always make sure to focus on no more than two items per look,  if you opt to add more you'll end up having an outfit that is too "busy" and calls for a negative impact.
Whether your main focus is the bag, footwear or clothing make sure that the piece you're choosing is unique and is bold enough to make a good statement. If you're having a hard time trying to figure out which pieces to use as your statement piece, think of pieces like fur, sequin, printed/embroidered tops, fringe and over the knee boots. Don't forget, a fashion statement is when you stand out and grab the attention of onlookers, choose wisely!
fringe
This upcoming spring season we will be seeing a lot of fringe! You will have many options as to which piece of clothing or accessory you choose to wear that has fringe. Skirts, vests, bags and even shoes are within those options, have fun choosing.

Monochromatic Extravaganza!

For the past few seasons, I have been a huge fan of monochromatic colors due to how delicate and feminine it looks. With spring in full bloom (almost) the urge to dress in light clothing and fun colors starts to sink in. Don't get stressed or feel forced to incorporate flower prints or bright neon colors to blend in with what we all believe should be worn during spring months.

I have always been a huge believer of wearing what I feel looks best on me even if it's not in "style" or "trending". However, that does not mean I will wear a ruffled dress from the 1950's just because I feel it looks great on me, common sense is key!

If you're one of the many fashionistas counting the minutes until you're able to wear open toe sandals, then I guess this is your time. This spring/summer 15' strappy and gladiator sandals apparently are looking forward to making a big entrance or should I say "Re-entrance.

All the items worn for this post are recycled from my closet. I tried my best finding similar items at affordable prices. Enjoy!

St.Patricks day attire with a twist!

It's March and even the non-Irish individuals get ready for the big St Patricks Day celebration. Some march in Irish pride parades, others celebrate in the comfort of their homes or attend church while others go bar hopping and get completely wasted. But what exactly is being celebrated every March 17th and why do we see everyone wearing green? Although celebrated mostly by the Irish, St. Patrick was actually born in England arguably in the 4th century and passed away march 17th, 461. (you read right- he wasn't Irish!) He was captured by Celtic raiders and spent several years as a slave in Ireland time in which he became deeply devoted to Christianity through constant prayer. In less than 30 years, he baptized, confirmed, ordained priests and erected schools and monasteries managing to spread Christianity far and wide. It is believed that St.Patrick used a shamrock to explain the holy trinity. In Irish legends, it is believed that green was worn by fairies and immortals and also worn to help make a good growing season for their crops hence becoming the color for St. Patrick's Day in the late 19th century. Every March 17th, St. Patrick is honored although a religious holiday, it became an official feast day in the 17th century.  IMG_6163  Well Chicas now that you know that green means "good luck" it wouldn't hurt to dress in all green, right? Let's not get too color happy now! The twist here is to utilize different shades of green to avoid looking like the leprechaun's helper.  goldgreen1There are various shades of green that can definitely compliment an outfit to make it look both classy and chic. By opting for different shades of green rather than one big blob of neon green you will avoid looking like you have a costume on.  halfone1Your accessories do not necessarily have to be the same color as your outfit but if you choose to use the same shade then go for something darker than what you're wearing.  autoone You do not have to limit yourself to wearing only pants! You can opt for a dress, skirt or a suit. You can also add other colors of your choice to create your look and make it trendy.brightAs always chicas, Have fun with what you're wearing and make it your own with personal touches and confidence.    There you have it chicas, time to celebrate in style! Similar items: PantsBlazerTopHeelsBag.

BackPack Mania.

Who remembers the struggle of being forced to wake up in the morning to go to school and the agonizing pain of having to carry a backpack? I'm super guilty of that, as a matter of fact I hated my backpack with a passion. Not only did I hate my backpack but the fact that it was a "Power Rangers" backpack made it that much more hideous (Thanks Mom). Apparently as I grew older my taste in all things fashion completely changed, who would've thought I would be rocking a backpack so many years later? Well, at least this time I got to choose the color and design :)

This season, If you're looking to spice things up a bit when it comes to accessories definitely consider adding a backpack to your wardrobe, it'll be a great addition and also a very cool and convenient way to carry your personal belongings in style. There is a wide range of options to choose from so don't limit yourself to just one style.

When it comes to which outfit to wear with your new found treasure you can wear just about anything you're in the mood for and by that I'm assuming you don't lack common sense and wear a backpack with a gown (BIG NO NO). As always, have fun with whatever you decide to wear and wear it with confidence.

Fun ways of styling prints and fur!

I know you're probably thinking that it's  somewhat of an early start to begin bringing out our floral prints, correct? Well, I beg to differ indeed! Just like every other fashion myth you've possibly ever heard before like, for example, the "no white" after labor day or "don't mix prints" while styling an outfit. Those and many more are ancient fashion rules that were meant to be broken, and if they weren't then you, my friend,  are a rebel in the making.
Soon you will start seeing that the floral print will make a huge comeback, I mean how can you resist such a bold feminine print that goes great with just about everything? Floral print is definitely a timeless classic that for many can be very intimidating, to say the least. If you're not too keen of approaching a head-to-toe floral look (wish I don't blame you) there is no need to worry, I'll show you different ways you can incorporate this print without looking outdated or tacky.
floral1
There are many ways of achieving  the perfect look when incorporating floral prints! For starters, limit yourself to one piece of clothing to be your statement floral piece, the last thing you want to do is overwhelm your outfit.
floral2
Your next step will be adding pieces that will compliment your already bold look while keeping you warm at the same time. A great option is fur! Faux fur, of course. This will turn your look in a very chic and sexy way.
floral3
You do not have to limit yourself to only wearing pants as your floral option. There are many pieces to choose from when looking to incorporate such print in your look! Dresses, skirts, jackets even shoes are a just a few options to choose from.
FLORAL4
Being that this print is such a strong statement, you want to make sure to keep your makeup and hair very sleek and simple. There are many different styles for hair and makeup to choose from, don't panic! Same goes with accessories, keeping things at a bare minimum will take you a long way.
floral5
When it comes to footwear, you have the freedom to choose from a wide variety of colors! Make sure it's a solid color so that it doesn't clash with your outfit. As usual, always have fun styling your outfit and make sure to add your very own personal touch. (Similar)(H&M) Pants,  (Similar)(F21) Top, (Similar)(BCBG)Fur VestBag, (Similar)(Sergio Rossi)Shoes.

Hello there spring!

Well hello there spring, You have certainly been missed dearly! We can now finally start seeing the beautiful flowers blooming, the birds singing a spring rhythm (yes, birds have different rhythms and style too) and most importantly, spring fashion! I mean, finally. With the brutal winter we had on the east coast and the many layers of clothing we had to wear we are definitely not to blame for wanting a breeze of warm air. Spring is definitely one of the best seasons of the year when it comes to styling and the reason is very simple: Versatility!
Spring fashion is all about vivid colors, cool textures and prints, fun accessories, casual footwear and bold attitude. The winter/spring transition should be anything but stressful. Consider a few spring trends like fringe, florals, overalls, backpacks, trench coats and strappy sandals. Remember ladies, wear what you want to wear whether it's trendy or not if it's trendy for you then wear it like a champ!
500
Yes ladies, It's that time of the year again and we all know what that means: pretty colors and light clothing (for the most part) For now, we can gradually  start leaving behind all the dark colors and incorporate a few lighter shades, baby steps will do.

Denim is always a great idea, especially when it's ripped! There are indeed endless ways of styling your favorite pair of denim while still keeping that spring look going on.
asper
We have the advantage of still wearing a few winter pieces while incorporating a few spring/summer pieces if desired. A light coat or trench coat would come in very handy.
cuttoutWhen it comes to accessorizing you're definitely at the top of the game due to the wide options that are available to choose from. Choose colors that will bring life to your look rather than take away, this is when color blocking comes into play (have fun).
maloi
Don't Shy away from cool and funky pieces, now is your chance to have fun with all those pieces that have been sitting in your closet for months. So let's get to work  ladies, not much time left.

Remember that fashion and style are two completely different things. Don't go crazy following trends, it's cool to create your own once in a while even if it takes a while to adjust.  (Similar) Shirtdress (Similar) Jeans , Pumps, (Similar) Handbag

Animal Print is always a great idea

Although not a new trend, animal print still prowled its way down all the fall runways. When it comes to leopard print, a little of this bold look can definitely go a long way, so hold on tight, we're on our way to a leopard madness!
Whether you're the type that would freak out at the idea of having orange spots all over your clothing or the type who loves the wild idea and finds this playful pattern completely wearable and totally chic, there is a leopard print for just about any taste. I totally get it chicas, it can be very intimidating to step out of our comfort zone and just rebel our way out.
The great news is that this fun and catchy print does not necessarily have to be a part of your apparel, there are many options to choose from like your shoes, bag, scarf or even a hair piece! you can definitely take baby steps when trying to achieve a look incorporating leopard prints. Go for it!
NMB2LDU_mxThere are certain ways that leopard print can look somewhat tacky, but when styled correctly it looks super cool and fun. Don't be afraid to mix leopard print with other patterns, go for an unexpected item like a biker jacket or striped shirt to mix with a leopard skirt, expand your horizons and get creative.

A leopard coat is indeed and without a doubt a big statement piece. Believe it or not, it's also versatile and the perfect addition to your ensemble. This piece can either make or destroy your look, so choose wisely!

Just as with any other piece, the leopard print heel is the perfect pattern for print mixing. If you're looking to stand out yet still look casual and chic,  just add a leopard print pump, sandals or flats to your attire and make a grand entrance. There are various options to choose from therefore making it that much more easy to pick one.
purseIf you're looking to create a more sophisticated look without trying too hard and without adding too much to your look, then go for a leopard print bag. A handbag or clutch will go great with your "little black dress" or cocktail/evening dress. Remember, the trick to obtaining the perfect look when incorporating leopard prints is in the right dose- try to only choose one piece with this print per look.

Leather with a pop of color!

What's not to love about the city and what's not to love about a girl with style? The answer is very simple, there's everything to love and absolutely nothing to dislike unless you're into wearing clothing that's more suitable for a farm. A city girl can definitely be spotted wearing leather pants, the most outstanding pair of heels and a statement clutch. A great example of such style can be best appreciated by looking at fashion icons like Sarah Jessica Parker, June Ambrose & Anna Dello Russo just to name a few. Dressing up as a city girl might sound somewhat intimidating, but in reality it's more about being able to go from casual to cool in a heartbeat. As oppose to other styles, you can incorporate your most daring, bold and exaggerated pieces into your look without being afraid to be too "over" the top. On the other hand, wearing a very clean and chic outfit can also fit into this particular style. Always keep in mind that it's not entirely in what you're wearing but more so in letting your personality shine through, and always feeling comfortable and confident in the skin you're in.green1Incorporating colors into your look is always a great idea. Don't be afraid of neon colors and statement pieces, even if it's winter.
cutyAs with any other fit, incorporating personal pieces that speak your style is always a plus. If you don't feel comfortable wearing pieces that are simply too much for your preference, don't worry it's absolutely fine! Like stated above, simple and chic also works.
new1  A nice clutch and accessories are indeed a "must have". A handbag or backpack can also be utilized if you prefer, whatever speaks your style and makes you feel awesome, that's the whole point here.
autot Sweaters are always a great way to achieve that "city girl" look, especially if they're turtle neck. A faux fur coat or a long coat paired with a floppy hat will indeed be an amazing idea.
lesther
Ultimately, choose a style that will reflect who you are, above all. Complete the look by adding nice makeup and you'll be on your way to becoming a city girl in no time. To achieve this look, I purchased a turtleneck sweater from H&M, Faux leather leggings from Zara, Neon pumps from (Shoemint) Similar from Heels.com, Clutch from (Aldo) Similar from DSW.
